Dark Traits in Management

Darkness lurks in all of us, and certain circumstances may bring our dark traits to the surface.

The report you are about to read indicates that the higher you are in the management hierarchy, the more pronounced the dark traits of your personality will be.

The report gives you our take on what causes this relationship, and how dark traits should be handled in daily working life, whether they are particularly prominent in you or in one of your colleagues — and probably your manager, if you have one.

Dacher Keltner is one of the world’s leading researchers in social psychology and the author of the book ”The Power Paradox”. His key point is the paradox that power is earned by working for the common good, but as you get more power, you become more focused on yourself. Simply put, power changes your brain so that you become less empathetic, more self-centred and more immoral.

Have you thought about how you would change if you got more power? According to research, you certainly wouldn’t become a gentler version of yourself.

Do you dare to cross to the dark side for some more insight? Then keep reading and enjoy!
